New evidence in Joseph Duggar’s molestation case exposed as private phone recording surfaces
Joseph Duggar’s child molestation case has taken another twist after prosecutors disclosed a phone recording among new evidence in the criminal proceedings, Page Six can exclusively reveal.
The private phone recording was turned over to the former reality star’s legal team as newly disclosed discovery, according to court documents filed in Florida’s Bay County Circuit Court on Oct. 22.
The contents of the recording remain unknown.
In a separate filing that same day, prosecutors also added a woman affiliated with an Arkansas children’s safety organization to their witness list.
As Page Six previously reported, the “19 Kids and Counting” alum was arrested out of state in March after being accused of molesting a 9-year-old girl in Florida.
He was charged with lewd and lascivious behavior involving a victim younger than the age of 12 and lewd and lascivious behavior conducted by a person 18 or older, the Bay County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement at the time.
The TLC personality — who was booked at the Washington County Correctional Facility in Arkansas — was accused by a minor, who is now 14, of grooming and sexual assault.
The minor accused Joseph of repeatedly grazing her genitals with his hand during a 2020 family vacation. The accuser also claimed he would allegedly “sit on the defendant’s lap” and he would “cradle [her] with his arms,” an affidavit stated.
The minor told investigators that the alleged sexual assault incidents occurred “several times.” Per the affidavit, Duggar allegedly “approached the victim” during the vacation and “apologized for his actions.”
Days after Joseph’s arrest, his wife Kendra Duggar was arrested in Arkansas on March 20 and charged with four counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor and four counts of second-degree false imprisonment.
Kendra was released from jail shortly after being booked. That same day, Joseph was also hit with the same charges.
In June, Joseph was granted supervised visitation with their kids.
He also requested to amend a motion banning him from staying 500 feet from the alleged victim’s former Florida home, but his request was denied.
Joseph, 31, is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 10.
